The first thing to remember is that your personal Facebook page is not the place to do business. Your friends do not want to be spammed on a daily basis with your latest business enterprise.
Facebook Personal Page
Your facebook personal page is about you, not your business. Only post on your personal page about once a week about your business. Be sure to take the time and include your business links in your about section so that people can find out what you do and follow your business.
Facebook Business Page
The first step is to set up a Facebook business page. Think of this page as your Yellow pages listing. People will find and “like” your page based on their interest in your product or service. The information that you post on this page is public and usually very general about yourself and your company. When you have this set up share with your customers and friends and get a following. Be sure to include this page as your job in your about section of your personal page.
Now that your business is set up it is time to move to the next step.
Facebook Group
Your Facebook group is where you develop a community. Your Facebook groups should be closed so that people will want to join to find out what is inside. This is the place to get your customers engaged. You will tell them about your products but you will also tell them about yourself. You will get to know your customers. When we truly know our customers they will like and trust us. Customers will become friends and they will also take pride in shopping with us and referring us to others.
Facebook Events
Events on Facebook are great places to throw parties for your company. These days everyone is so busy that they don’t want to clean their house or get dressed up and go to a party.
